Paula McFarling calls a dance in Columbia.
We always dance to live music. Here in mid-Missouri, we are fortunate to have many talented string bands to play for our dances and to keep the tradition of music and dance alive.
We dance mostly contras and squares, with waltzes, polkas, or other couple dances at the break.

Jim Thaxter calls while Fox on the Run plays a contra dance in Kansas City.
All dances are taught and called throughout the evening. If you are new to contra dancing, come to the beginners' workshop at 7:00 p.m. for an introduction to the basic figures. Also check out the articles on contra dancing.
We welcome beginners and experienced dancers of all ages. Come alone or bring a friend for twice the fun.
No costumes needed, but do please bring clean, soft-soled shoes to protect the wooden dance floor. Contra dancing can be vigorous exercise. Wear light-weight, comfortable clothes.
